MAKATI CITY, 21 May 2026 – State-owned Credit Information Corporation (CIC) will hold Episode 5 of its CIC Academy Webinar entitled “Understanding Your Credit Report” together with fintech platform CreditMo on 29 May 2026. The webinar aims to educate the public on the country’s credit system and the importance of building financial credibility by regularly checking their credit reports and scores.
The session will cover Republic Act No. 9510 or the Credit Information System Act (CISA), which requires lenders to submit borrower data to CIC. Its database holds about 76.7 million borrower records, the country’s largest credit information repository.
Participants will learn how the centralized system helps promote responsible lending and borrowing, as well as the importance of accessing and reviewing their credit report.
“The goal is to centralize and consolidate all credit information into one database, allowing a borrower’s outstanding loans, whether from a bank or a non-bank, to be viewed in a single query,” said CIC President and CEO Ben Joshua Baltazar.
PCEO Baltazar added that the webinar will encourage borrowers to regularly access their credit reports to verify the accuracy of their data, address discrepancies, and take steps to improve their credit standing.
The webinar will also feature Creditmo as the resource speaker. CreditMo will discuss how credit systems work, why credit scores matter, and how the AI-driven lending environment shapes one’s financial future.
Island Credit Solutions, the credit system behind CreditMo, is a Special Accessing Entity (SAE) of CIC, authorized to securely access and deliver credit information to users. It helps borrowers manage their credit standing by providing credit reports with scores.
